I-5 Business Development Corridor Transit Study

The development of public transit services in the southern San Joaquin Valley has been underway for more than 20 years. Transit operations began with localized demand response services aimed at providing basic social service transportation. When demand exceeded the Dial-A-Ride system's capacity, small fixed route operations were added in those communities creating small and medium sized operations carrying a substantial number of passengers.

Completed in 1998, the I-5 Business Development Corridor Transit Study sought to modify the current services to better reflect the growth changes anticipated in the corridor. Emphasis is placed on the realignment of existing services to match projected ridership demain and provide for a wide variety of transit needs.
