August/September 2013 SCS Scenario Community Workshops:
In late August and early September we hosted 6 workshops to present Sustainable Communities Strategy scenarios that take a big-picture look at how the Fresno County region could grow over time in a way that uses resources effciently, protects existing communities, conserves farmland and open space, and supports the regional economy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Three Sustainable Community Strategy scenarios were presented, A, B and C with data from 10 Performance Indicators:
August Workshops were held in Fresno, Kingsburg, Kerman, CA, Huron and Clovis.
May 2013 RTP-SCS Community Workshops
Ten community workshops were held throughout the Fresno County Region that gave residents an opportunity to hear more about the region’s Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Community Strategy (a brand new plan under development to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our region.) These workshops gave community members an introduction into Fresno COG’s upcoming plans.
RTP Community Mini-Grant Program:
Fresno COG is providing mini grants ranging from $1,500 – $3,000 each, to schools/organizations that will implement outreach activities that result in public involvement and input from stakeholders regarding the 2014 Regional Transportation Plan and its Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) Scenarios.

Fresno COG’s RTP Roundtable:
The purpose of the RTP Roundtable is to support the Fresno COG staff and COG standing committees in their development and preparation of the 2014 Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy. It is therefore vital to the success of the process that the RTP Roundtable consider issues that support development of the 2014 RTP/SCS and provide comments and community-based consensus that support the final decision on the RTP by the Fresno Council of Governments’ Policy Board.
