Virtual Public Workshop for Extreme Heat Analysis and Shade Adaptation Plan

Supported by community input, Fresno COG is developing guidance on a regional approach to increase vegetation and shade projects for key transportation corridors in Fresno County, particularly where pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders are directly affected.

A virtual workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., which will include interactive activities to gain valuable input. What will be covered at the Extreme Heat virtual workshop?
• Project summary to date
• Input received from previous public outreach activities
• A Vulnerability Analysis
• Pedestrian and bicyclist traffic analysis and location analysis
• Input on tree canopy and vegetative cover projects
• Discussion on Vulnerability Analysis and categories for site selection

A draft plan will be posted for review in early 2026 on the project website at
Fresno County Extreme Heat Analysis and Shade Adaptation Plan.
